At VisitaSudafrica our objective is to give you a quick and easy-to-use guide to traveling to South Africa, with not only a summary of the most popular tourist spots but also a full range of travel guidebooks, maps and other products you need to fully enjoy what South Africa has to offer.

Why South Africa?

South Africa, land of sun, rich in diversity, contrasts and scenic beauty, with unbelievable wild life in exquisite private game farms as well as national parks and conservation areas attracting thousands of visitors annually.

The south-western corner of Africa with its rugged mountains is a natural park with exquisite beauty and rich flora. Table Mountain alone boasts with more than 1400 plant species nearly as many as that of the whole of the British Isles.

When to go:

South Africa has a moderate climate which makes it accessible all year round.

In the interior the winter (June to September) is the dry season with cold nights and moderate sunny days while the eastern coastline with its almost tropical climate tends to be pleasant and more humid. The only winter rainfall area in South Africa is the southwestern-most corner of the country where passing winter storms give rise to the name Cape of Storms.

As for summer (December to March) the days could get quite hot in the dryer areas of the Karoo and Kalahari deserts but the rest of the interior is quite pleasant and frequently cooled by quick, passing afternoon thunderstorms.

How to get there:

South Africa is connected with direct flights to most European centres by a variety of carriers. South African Airways also has direct flights from Atlanta and Miami. The major entry points for international flights to South Africa are the international airports at Johannesburg (JNB) and Cape Town (CPT).

Visas:
